Brianna and Nick’s Epic Mount Brunswick Adventure Engagement Session

Some engagement sessions start with a short walk from the parking lot. Brianna and Nick’s started with a full mountain hike, a pack full of camera gear, and the kind of climb that makes you question every life choice until the view opens up.

Mount Brunswick was definitely a first for me. I knew we were looking at a 6 to 7 hour hike, and I knew it was going to be a big one. What I did not fully understand was how wild it would feel once we started getting close to the top. The views were breathtaking, but this location is not for the faint of heart.

Brianna and Nick were incredible from the start. They had arrived almost an hour or two before me, which still makes me laugh a little because I was working hard just to get up there. It took me about 4 hours to hike in, and by the time I caught up, they were relaxed, excited, and ready to make something beautiful together.

A Mount Brunswick engagement session is a full adventure

Mount Brunswick is the kind of place that asks a lot from you before it gives anything back. It is steep, exposed in sections, and physically demanding. This was not a casual golden hour session where we wandered around a field for 30 minutes.

This was a real adventure.

The trail made us work for every frame. There were moments where the climb felt endless, moments where my legs were absolutely feeling it, and moments where I could not believe we were still going up. Then the mountain would open in front of us and suddenly it all made sense.

That is what makes locations like this so special. The photos carry the feeling of what it took to get there. You can see the wind, the effort, the laughter, and the quiet moments in between. Nothing about it feels staged because the experience itself is already so full.

By the time we got higher up, vertigo definitely started to get the better of me. Mount Brunswick has sections that feel intense, especially once you begin climbing toward the very top. The views are unreal, but so is the drop. I remember trying to stay focused, keep moving, and not think too hard about where my feet were in relation to the edge.

They were patient, calm, and so easy to photograph. They brought the best energy to the day. No stress, no rushing, no pressure. Just the two of them, completely present, soaking it all in. Down for anything.

The mountain was stunning, of course. But what made these images work was Brianna and Nick.

Once we reached the upper sections, everything changed.

The mountains stretched out in every direction. The clouds moved across the ridges. The scale of it all made us feel tiny in the best way. There is something about being that high up with two people who are about to start a new chapter together. It feels cinematic, but also deeply personal.

We took our time with the images. Some were wide and dramatic, showing the full scale of Mount Brunswick. Others were quiet and close, focused on Brianna and Nick instead of the view behind them.

Brianna and Nick’s Mount Brunswick engagement session was challenging, hilarious, beautiful, and a little terrifying in the best way. It pushed me physically, tested my fear of heights, and reminded me why these kinds of sessions are so worth it. Plus I was dead for a day or two after this hike!

The photos are only part of the story. The hike, the climb, the waiting, the wind, the view, and the shared effort all became part of the final images.
