A 40% chance of rain seemed worth it. Sometimes, you just have to take the leap. Carrie and Sam’s engagement shoot showed us that. A little unpredictability can lead to stunning photos.

We hopped on the ferry right after making the decision. The rain poured while we traveled. Even as we began taking photos, it didn’t let up. But the adventure was just beginning. The skies cleared, and we were treated to a gorgeous sunset. The colors exploded all around us.

As a Canadian photographer in British Columbia, moments like these remind me why I love my job. The beauty of Vancouver and its surroundings provides a perfect backdrop. Rainy days can surprise you with a little magic once in a while.
