Last weekend, we had the privilege of documenting Cameron and Alisen’s intimate wedding at Latona Campground on Gambier Island, and wow, what a magical day it was!
We started our adventure with an early ferry ride from Porteau Cove to Latona Camp. Cameron greeted me with a quick tour of the space, and I have to say—this place was seriously amazing! The couple had thoughtfully set up games for their guests, and naturally, the groom’s side wasted no time diving into the fun before getting ready. There’s always something so entertaining about the contrast between the bride and groom prep—while the guys were playing games in the forest, the ladies were focused on getting ready with a bit more calm (though no less excitement!).
Since this was a more intimate wedding, I was flying solo with the photography, which meant lots of bouncing between the guys and the girls. Thankfully, I had Karla there to assist with all the behind-the-scenes magic. Shooting this one felt extra special, especially knowing Cameron and Alisen chose this spot for a reason close to their hearts. They actually met on Gambier Island, so it only made sense to find a venue here to start the next chapter of their lives.
Oh, and did I mention 99 Bananas liquor made an appearance? Definitely one of those spontaneous moments that should be a new tradition for couples! 😄
After a stunning ceremony with the most breathtaking view, the newlyweds took a few moments to themselves, enjoying a private champagne toast before we dove into their portraits. We captured some beautiful moments before quickly heading back toward the ferry—because yep, we were on a bit of a time crunch. But that didn’t stop me from grabbing a few shots along the way! Cameron and Alisen were total troopers as we made pit stops at various spots until we reached the docks. I might have had the ferry waiting for us (oops!), but I’m so glad we pushed for those final moments.
This wedding, with its intimate vibes, stunning location, and the beautiful love between these two, was a dream to document. Cameron and Alisen, you two are such a special couple, and I’m so grateful I got to be part of your day. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!
Cheers,

P.S. I’ll be reminiscing about this day every time I take a ferry now!
